Peter Menegazzo, chief executive officer of Australian fund manager Investa, will discuss investment opportunities in the country's property markets at an industry forum next month. Menegazzo will participate in a one-on-one interview at the Mingtiandi Australia Forum, scheduled for 15 September at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
The interview will be streamed live on the event's MTD TV video platform. According to the event organizer Mingtiandi, the forum is expected to attract more than 200 industry leaders.
Menegazzo leads a team managing A$15.4 billion (US$11.1 billion) in assets. His company, Investa, focuses on core office properties in Australia's major gateway cities and build-to-rent residential projects through its Indi platform.
A Year of Major Transactions
The CEO's appearance follows a series of high-value deals completed by Investa in 2026. The company started the year by finalizing the purchase of 100 Mount Street in North Sydney for A$558 million in partnership with global investment firm BGO.
In July, Investa and BGO partnered again on a larger transaction. The duo acquired a portfolio of assets in Sydney and Brisbane for a combined A$1.8 billion.
Last month, Investa sold the 1 Market Street office tower in Sydney. The building was purchased by the Investa Core Plus Office Partnership, which is backed by an existing capital partner. Market sources identified that partner to Mingtiandi as Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC.
Residential Market Expansion
Beyond office assets, Investa has been active in the residential sector. In March, the company received approval to develop a co-living project at 140 Elizabeth Street in central Sydney. Japanese investors JR West Real Estate & Development Company, Sotetsu Real Estate Co. Ltd, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank are partners in that venture.
The company also reached a milestone in its build-to-rent business in April. Its Indi Footscray project in Melbourne, developed in partnership with Canadian pension fund manager Oxford Properties, achieved practical completion.
Broader Market Activity
The forum will feature other prominent industry figures alongside Menegazzo. Brad Collier, head of diversified funds at Dexus, and Steve Bennett, chief executive for direct property investment at Charter Hall, are also scheduled for spotlight interviews.
Bennett's team recently launched Charter Hall's first biomedical property fund. The Mingtiandi event aims to map out emerging opportunities in Australia's commercial and residential real estate markets.
MSCI data indicates a 13 percent growth in trades of income-earning real estate assets in Australia during the second quarter of 2026. Some of the country's largest transactions this year have involved Investa.
