Mingtiandi-Yardi Survey Tracks AI Uptake in APAC Real Estate
Mingtiandi and Yardi’s sixth-edition survey, due 28 Aug, gathers data from over 16,000 subscribers on AI adoption, barriers and future expectations in Asia Pacific real-estate firms.

Mingtiandi and Yardi have released the sixth edition of an 18-question survey that tracks how real-estate firms across Asia Pacific are adopting artificial intelligence. The poll, which is open until Friday, 28 Aug, asks participants to report on the use of tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, DeepSeek and Qwen, as well as specialised agents and enterprise-level AI software.
Survey Scope and Participation
The survey is distributed to Mingtiandi’s more than 16,000 subscribers and takes only five minutes to complete. All responses are kept anonymous, and participants who finish the poll receive free access to MTD Pro, Mingtiandi’s all-access news subscription.
Global AI Adoption Trends
According to McKinsey, AI adoption by US corporations rose from 78 percent in 2024 to 88 percent by the end of last year. In contrast, Mingtiandi notes that AI take-up in Asia Pacific real-estate is less well charted, making this poll the only one dedicated to the region’s industry.
| Region | 2024 Adoption | 2025 Adoption |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 78 % | 88 % |
| Asia Pacific | 56 % | 75 % |
AI Use in APAC Real Estate
In the survey’s fifth edition last year, 75 percent of respondents reported that their companies had begun AI research, organised data for systems, or started implementation, up from 56 percent in 2024. The same poll found that 52 percent of respondents saw AI providing operational efficiencies with measurable business impact, while 36 percent said AI enhanced strategic decision-making by enabling data-driven insights.
| Metric | 2025 Value |
|---|---|
| Operational efficiencies | 52 % |
| Strategic decision-making | 36 % |
| Top reason for new systems | 48 % |
| Improving asset-management info | 46 % |
Barriers and Drivers
The survey also tracks the barriers that inhibit further implementation of AI. While the source does not list specific obstacles, it notes that the poll covers broader tech issues, including cybersecurity practices. Respondents expect AI to be most useful for research, followed by investment analysis and asset allocation.
Future Outlook
With the deadline for responses closing on 28 Aug, the survey offers a timely snapshot of how APAC real-estate firms are embracing AI. The poll’s findings suggest a growing confidence in AI’s ability to deliver operational efficiencies and strategic insights, and a clear expectation that AI will play a central role in research and investment analysis in the coming years.
